They have taken good people and sucked them into the Save the Planet scheme.
Only to find they aren’t saving the planet and now they have effectively sold the off rights to their property for the price of a lease. Personally, I don’t think Karma is at play. I think sometimes that bad things happen to good people. The people who work for companies like Nextera, Northland Power, Suncor, etc. will get what they are due one of these days.
How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours. ~Wayne Dyer
I used to be angry with leaseholders until I had the chance to understand how people were treated by the companies, some even bullied into signing a lease. It was a difficult process to move from one of anger to one of understanding, to know people were duped and who was really responsible for this debacle. What has helped me along this path is becoming friends with a very brave leaseholder who courageously spoke out, under threat of litigation.
I acknowledge there are leaseholders in this area who continue to believe the lies that the wind companies are feeding them. Personally, I think they have adopted the mindset that what they are doing is good and right and those against wind are wrong. They need to believe this in order to justify their choices. Oh yeah, and then there’s the money factor.
